The department of computer and information science is one of six departments of the faculty of sciences at the University of Konstanz.

14 work groups as well as the PhD graduate programme do research in the area of Explorative Analysis and Visualization of Large information Spaces. This common research interest characterises the departmental research work and is unique in its kind.

About 450 students are enrolled in the bachelor, master and teaching study programmes of the department. 80 junior scientists support the 14 professors, junior professors and lecturers in teaching. The graduates' career opportunities are considered outstanding as well on the national as on the international labour market.
