Master Project preprocessing of 3D point set surfaces
Welcome to the webpage of the Master Project "Preprocessing Of 3D Point Set Surfaces" at the chair of Multimedia Signal Processing of Prof. Dr. D. Saupe at the University of Konstanz. My advisor during this project was Dr. Hongwei Zheng.
In the course of this project, two laser range scanners were applied, and one low cost DAVID scanner was realized. The retrieved data was preprocessed with available software and the representative, fully processed models can be found on this webpage. Also the project involved a consideration of the open source software Pointshop 3D and was furthermore accompanied by a seminar course about a paper describing automated methods for efficient reconstruction of point set surfaces. Further details can be found in the corresponding sections on this webpage and / or in the project report and seminar talk elaboration in the download section.
As web development is one of my private passions, this webpage is an adaptation of a PHP / HTML / CSS based framework I previously built for other purposes. It contains only self made code (with exception of the generated parts of the google maps script), and follows my idea to develop in PHP rather than javascript. PHP code is executed server-side, rather than client-side (like javascript code), and thereby comprises no dangers for the internet user, ultimately avoiding the problem that many webbrowsers knowingly do not display javascript content. The graphical style of this webpage was conformed for its use and previously included SQL features were removed, as the webpage is to be hosted on university webspace.
Please enjoy your stay on this webpage, and feel free to use the contact form to let me have a share in your thoughts.
