Abstract: Advances in RNA sequencing technologies and computational methodologies have provided a huge impetus to non-coding RNA (ncRNA) study. We investigated plant transcriptome to characterize non-coding RNAs including microRNAs, siRNAs, lncRNAs, ceRNAs and cirRNAs. They are emerging as key players in gene regulatory networks by interacting with other biomolecules (DNA, RNA or protein). We developed several bioinformatics databases and pipelines to facilitate better understanding of the regulation of non-coding RNAs. An overview of ncRNA repertoire and highlight recent discoveries of their versatile interactions is introduced.
